This report by Milliman—one of the most respected actuarial firms in the world—provides their annual index and report on U.S. employer health care costs that is authoritative and very valuable.  This actuarial index is an excellent comparison point for all U.S. employers.  This report finds that healthcare costs for American families in 2012 exceed $20,000 for the first time in 2012.  While the percentage increase is not as high as in the recent past, the dollar increase was still a record.  This report measures a statistically significant sample of American healthcare cost and utilization.
