Over the last four decades, Larry has developed over 1,000 employee worksite wellness and health cost management projects in both private and public employer settings. He has given thousands of presentations and workshops during his career, usually speaking at 10-15 regional and national meetings each year on topics such as: economic evidence for health promotion and wellness, innovative health management strategies, strategic positioning of employee health programs, use of wellness incentives and practical aspects of health and productivity management (HPM) programming.
Larry has published over 190 columns and articles and 13 books on health management-related topics. In 1991, Larry published a major book for the American Management Association entitled, Affordable Employee Health Care: A Model Health Benefit Program. In addition, Larry has been a regular columnist for several health professional publications, as well as serving as an editor for the American Journal of Health Promotion. He also served as the Editor of The Art of Health Promotion published every two months in the American Journal of Health Promotion for more than 15 years.
Larry was a co-founder and held various executive roles with Summex Health Management and continued as an SVP when the firm was acquired by WebMD Health Services in 2006. Prior to Summex, Larry led a wellness consulting business Corporate Health Designs in Seattle Washington for over 15 years. Larry also spent 10 years in the US Public Health Service in health administration and program management roles.
Larry has also served as an adviser to the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, the California Department of Health and the National Wellness Institute. Larry holds a BS in environmental health from UCLA, and an MPH in medical care organization from the University of Michigan.

With over 20 years of experience working in all facets of business, Chuck has seen firsthand the importance of both organizational intelligence and organizational health.
He is a former human resources manager for a power utility and director of human resources for a transportation corporation. In those positions, he led the workplace wellness efforts that resulted in substantial cost savings to the company.
Chuck has also held positions in finance and operations and has owned and operated a consulting firm focused on human resources management, leveraging technology and utilizing behavioral economics. He is founder and president of WellStrategy, a consulting firm dedicated to help organizations develop an internal strategy for workplace wellness that aligns with the company goals for operational effectiveness, revenue growth, expense reduction, organizational development, training, recruitment and retention.
He has spent time in the classroom teaching for Purdue University, IUPUI and Indiana Wesleyan University. Chuck earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Indianapolis. Additionally, he has trained hundreds of individuals on how to coordinate workplace wellness efforts. Chuck resides with his wife and daughter in Fishers, Indiana.

Mari has a passion for activity and healthy living, and is leveraging years as a business professional in managing and overseeing the delivery of the worksite wellness services of AdvancingWellness. She has held various sales, marketing, operations management and executive roles over the past 25 years, and worked in diverse types of industries. She has consulted in organizations such as Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Northrup Grumman and many more. In addition to these companies, Mari has worked in businesses of all sizes, from the small business starting at the dining room table to global companies.
Mari holds a Bachelor Degree from Lesley University, an MBA from Boston University, and a Masters in Health Promotion from Nebraska Methodist College. She is a certified Worksite Wellness Program Consultant, a Certified Wellness Practitioner and is a certified facilitator in a number of evidence-based behavior change programs. Mari is also a trained facilitator of the CDC’s Work@Health program.
Mari’s articles on worksite health promotion topics have been published in the American Journal of Health Promotion, Insights (NEHRA), and Occupational Health and Safety Magazine. Mari is in demand as a speaker at local and national conferences on health promotion topics and is a professional member of the National Speaker’s Association.
Mari is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Worksite Wellness Council of Massachusetts, and a member of the Board of Directors of Health Promotion Advocates, a group of committed health promotion professionals who are working to integrate health promotion concepts into national health policy. Mari served as the co-chair of the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) Human Resources Committee from 2011-2013. Mari also serves as a member of the External Advisory Committee for the Center for Promotion of Health in the New England Workplace, a NIOSH-funded Center of Excellence at the University of Massachusetts – Lowell. Mari is a member of several Human Resource organizations, including the New England Human Resource Association (NEHRA) and Human Resources Leadership Foundation (HRLF).
