One approach would be to use a traditional grading system approach such as: A, B, C, D, and F. You can also indicate whether the vendor needed improvement in a particular area of performance. If you do indicate to the vendor that they need to make some improvements you should always have very specific information for them. The report card process provides an excellent opportunity to clear the air with a vendor and obtain better vendor performance.
