#049 Using a Wellness Vendor Report Card

I recently had a revealing discussion with a wellness manager from one of the largest school districts in our state. She shared her frustrations about the inconsistent performance of the 11 vendors providing various wellness services to the schools and administrative offices. The competitive atmosphere fostered by the contracting and procurement offices seemed to encourage vendors to sabotage each other, leading to significant service downfalls and shortfalls. Additionally, issues of accountability arose, involving the teachers’ union, school board members, and county commissioners.

This experience highlights the critical need for better coordination and cooperation among wellness service providers. Ensuring a unified approach can greatly enhance the quality and reliability of wellness programs in educational settings. By addressing these challenges, we can create a more supportive and effective environment for both students and staff.

She solved this problem by implementing a well-designed vendor report card with all her vendors.
